TUTORING SERVICES

We offer specialised one on one tutoring for pre-primary and primary aged children with learning disabilities and also children experiencing learning difficulties. Sessions with children can be provided in environments that are conducive to their learning, including at the child’s home, day-care centre or school.

These children may have or present the following characteristics:

•    Trying hard and with minimal outcomes
•    Struggling to retain information
•    Difficulty following multiple directions
•    Struggles with numbers and math
•    Struggling with reading, writing or spelling
•    Fatigues quickly
•    Poor listening skills
•    Poor self-esteem

Tutoring may assist with the following learning areas:

We concentrate on using methods and materials that, according to published, comprehensive research have been found most likely to accelerate any child’s acquisition of basic educational achievements, and are most likely to overcome any child’s developmental or social problems. Thus any child and his/her family can benefit from our services not just those with a ‘diagnosed’ disorder.

An example of some of the teaching methods we use are:

•    Pivotal Response Teaching

•    Natural environment Teaching

•    Incidental Teaching

•    Verbal Behavioural Teaching

•    Discrete Trial Training

•    Fluency-Based instruction

•    Direct Instruction

As every program is personalised, it is also data driven and all sessions are recorded in writing. The child’s progress is periodically assessed to ensure that progress is being made.
